I love this game, similar to Egyptian Estimation… you need to try Pocket Estimation on Android & iOS
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fanellapro.pocketestimation.android&hl=en
iOS: https://itunes.apple.com/eg/app/pocket-estimation/id1070436562?mt=8
really great walkthrough. it was more concise than what i have been reading/watching.
My family’s favourite card game! Except we call it ‘blobs’ and keep score simply by the person with the least amount of blobs at the end winning (a blob being an incorrect guess that has been scribbled out)
Here is an interesting thought, I play this game with my family now and then, and something i have noticed is that the player who bids 0 the most often wins the game. We play with a scoring system where if you get exact amount of tricks as bids you get that number plus 10. Then we give 1 point for each trick if you do not meet or underbid. So a bid of 0 and receiving 0 tricks is 10 points. I am curious is there a correlation to the number of 0's bid and your estimated win percentage. In my house we often play with large amounts of people usually like 8 or 9 and we have hand size start at max possible for that number of people then decrease to 1 then backup to max. Would you be interested in potentially finding the solution to this question as it is very peculiar and complicated? (I am not good at statistics so i need help.)

I thought estmation can only be played with 4 ?
In Egypt, the way to play is completely different from yours
We play this game almost weekly. but with adding a few more tweaks,
1- it's better to play with four players. so the total bids will be 13.
2- you can say 5 without opening your cards and if you get 5 hands you get 100 points if not you go -5. and plus no one can buy your hand.
3- the game ends at 150 points unless someone else reaches 100 the game goes up to 250.
4- This one is very important if your hand is 2 or less you after they said their bids so choose the right hand or you go down. you only have one right to buy someone's hand and you can't buy the hand of someone who has said 5 without opening his card.
6- the person with the highest score can decide what is the trump suited card without opening his hands. and while the trump suited card is in-game you are obligated to play the higher number of the trump card.
7- the least bid to say is 2 if you are below 100 points if your score is over 100 you must bid at least 3.
