  1. 0:54 Bursts in, "Sorry I'm late guys, I was taking a crap." Love Paul Newman!

  2. ''Untie us…he'll pull out the transom…''

  3. Only thing missing for those times: the room should've been thick with cigar smoke…

  4. That was a mighty smooth train they were on. Smooth Railways

  5. Robert Shaw was such a great actor. He died much to young.

  6. After he said 4 jacks , you can her the train whistle in the background, perfectly timed .

  7. You can’t add chips in the middle of a hand!!

  8. You can't buy more chips/bring more money to the table during a hand.

  9. Wish they showed the lines "He cheated!" to which Lonnegan replies "Of course he cheated. What am I supposed to do, accuse him of cheating better than me?" Hillary Clinton should have asked herself that question.

  10. One of My Favorite Movies of All Time .
    Love Watching it …

  11. A weak choice for best picture but this scene is one of Pauls iconic. Ranks w his pool scenes w Jackie Gleason.

  12. 50 th anniversary coming up this Xmas, The Exorcist too!

  13. Man, what a scene. This is better than any full-length movie that's been made in the last 10 years.

  14. "Sorry I am late guys, I was taking a crap."

  15. Makes me laugh 😃 great performances 👏 all around …"it's Lonigannnnn" …"you followwww?"

  16. I'd like to know who is responsible for the terrible captioning. It was a disgrace, particularly with a movie that's so intricate and requires understanding beyond just the entertainment value. If you ever want some captioning done correctly, let me know.

  17. Not forgetting his henchman in the back there (been in so many films yet bet you can't name him – I can't!) His expressions are great – such smugness 😒😒

  18. If you're going to cheat, why not hold a Royal Flush of Spades?

  19. Lonnegan was ready to burst!!!!! or was it Lonman, Lonicon, Lonahan, Lombard, or Linamen? 😀

  20. Never show your hand first in a movie…. You'll always lose! 😂

  21. DOES ANYBODY KNOW how Henry knew what to play against Doyle??? How did Henry know that Doyle was not going to show 4 Aces or a Straight Flush???? It literally does not make any sense???????

  22. I took all these years to notice Newman used Robert Shaws name as his alias at the table.

  23. Isn’t the actor’s real name Shaw too? 😂

  24. Chck norris would have beat them both with blackjack😂

  25. its a shame his life spiraled out of control after this, he ended up in a coastal town fishing sharks and was eventually killed

  26. Would have sucked if the guy that folded had a jack.

  27. Redford only saw this recently for the 1st time, with his niece. He loved it. Never had time in the 70s to watch it, thats a star right there.

  28. It's really disappointing that they left out the followup scene with the guy in his room like "What do you want me to do, accuse him of cheating better than me?"

  29. Shaw was commanding in scene …hardly had to say a word …steaming 🌫🌬 performance 👏 😅

  30. It might sound cliché, but they just don't make movies like this anymore. No guns blazing, no outrageous action, just wit, steel nerves, and some of the greatest actors to ever have graced the silver screen. The tension was palpable, and the payoff perfect.

  31. "that he Welshed…" Capone had a main man Murray (Humphries) the Hump who was Welsh,

  32. They don't make 'em like this anymore, eh….?😅😅

  33. "call and raise"

Nope! After announcing "call" you just call!

  34. One of the finest movie scenes of all time… Bar none…

  35. what happened to his 3s?how did he get the jacks?

  36. Great movie… one of my favorites….A true Newman classic

  37. Robert Shaw here out acting everyone in that room and most of todays actors by just glaring. Doesn't need to swear, be the loudest or call anyone names. He just sits there and does his thing, a true master of his craft.

  38. Robert Shaw was always getting eaten by sharks
